The Settings screen in Fleeting Notes lets you manage your account, configure sync, and customize the app behavior.
Account
- Login / Logout: Sign in or out of your Fleeting Notes account. If you don’t have one yet, you can register from this screen.
- Force Sync: Manually trigger a sync to pull your notes from the cloud to your current device.
- End-to-End Encryption: Set an encryption key to keep your notes encrypted during transmission.
- Phone Number: Add or update your phone number to take notes via SMS or phone calls.
- Delete Account: Permanently removes your account and all notes. This does not cancel any active subscription — unsubscribe first.

Backup
- Export to Markdown: Save all your notes as Markdown files.
- Import from Markdown: Restore notes from a previous Markdown export.
- Export to JSON: Export notes in JSON format for external processing.
App Settings
- Dark Mode: Toggle between light and dark themes.
- List View: Switch the notes screen between list and grid layout.
- Text Scale Factor: Adjust the font size globally. Default is 1.
Editor Settings
- Append Same Source: When a new note has the same source URL as an existing one, the app automatically appends content to the existing note instead of creating a duplicate.
- Auto-Focus on Title: The cursor jumps to the title field automatically when you open a new note.
- Right-to-Left Text: Enables RTL text direction for languages that require it.
